Cookie Policy

This page explains what Purchet stores on your device, why, and how you can control it.

Last updated: September 26, 2026

Your choice

Essential storage keeps you signed in and secure. Analytics and session recordings are optional and stay off unless you allow them.

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. We also use similar technologies, such as your browser's local and session storage, which work in the same way for the purposes of this policy. Together they let us keep you signed in, remember your choices, and understand how the platform is used.

2. How We Use Them

We group what we store into two categories. Strictly necessary storage is always on. Analytics and session recordings are optional and stay off until you allow them.

Strictly necessary

Required for the platform to work and to keep it secure. These do not need your consent and cannot be turned off.

  • Sign-in: your session and account details, so you stay signed in between pages and visits. This includes session and security (CSRF) cookies set by our API.
  • Security: Cloudflare Turnstile checks on sign-up and log-in forms to block automated abuse.
  • Two-factor and onboarding state: flags that record steps you have completed, such as sign-up progress and two-factor status.
  • Interface preferences: whether you have dismissed a banner or seen an onboarding guide.
  • Your cookie choice: a cookie named purchet_consent that remembers your decision for up to 180 days.
  • Offline support: a service worker that caches pages so the app can load when your connection drops.

Analytics and session recordings (optional)

Only used if you choose to allow them. They help us understand which pages and features are used and let us reproduce bugs.

  • PostHog product analytics: page views and feature usage. Stores identifiers in cookies and local storage with names beginning ph_. If you are signed in, these events are linked to your account.
  • Sentry Session Replay: a recording of on-screen activity used to diagnose problems. Stores a session identifier in your browser's session storage.

3. Diagnostics and Performance Measurement

Two kinds of technical reporting run regardless of your cookie choice, because they are needed to keep the platform reliable.

  • Error and performance reports sent to Sentry when something fails or runs slowly. These can include technical details such as the page address, browser and device information, and your IP address. They do not set cookies for advertising.
  • Aggregated page-speed measurements from Vercel Speed Insights, which does not use cookies.

4. Managing Your Choices

  • Use the Cookie Settings link in the site footer, or the button below, to change your choice at any time. Turning analytics off stops collection straight away and removes PostHog's stored identifiers from your device.
  • You can also review and delete cookies in your browser settings, or block specific types where your browser supports it.
  • Blocking strictly necessary storage will stop features such as signing in from working.

5. Third-Party Services

Some features, such as signing in with Google or making payments, are provided by third parties who may set their own cookies when you use them. Those cookies are governed by the third party's own policies, not this one.

6. Policy Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy as the platform and legal requirements change. If a change affects what you have agreed to, we will ask for your choice again. The last-updated date above always reflects the latest version.
